The EFA offers a broad range of advice and consultancy services. Workshops and presentations
The EFA run a variety of workshops throughout the year, and these sessions can by repeated for your organisation in-house. They provide a general overview of age issues, including age discrimination and demographics, and an outline of the legislation highlighting key areas which will require action. These sessions are designed to raise awareness with non-specialist or non-HR audiences and are suitable for large mixed groups.
In-house briefings
Tailor made briefings on the age legislation and the need for policy review and revision in advance of 2006, with particular reference to the EFA 'One Step Ahead' Policy Review Toolkit - this can be adapted to suit either a specialist HR practitioners or a wider audience of managers.
Masterclasses
These tightly focussed, practical sessions introduce and explain age neutral practice in key policy areas. Masterclasses are available either at the EFA customised for in-house sessions.
Focus Groups
Designed to look at areas of possible concern and identify problems or risks in advance of the age laws. Includes a short report. A useful way of getting an independent snapshot of staff perspectives and of gaining feedback on age equality issues.
In-house and research projects
In-house research projects are designed in partnership with the client to scope issues around policy and practice. Using a variety of techniques we will explore and analyse of all aspects of HR policies which relate to age. A detailed report will include findings, recommendations and business focussed solutions. The development of in-house products can be included and the project can be tied to media and PR activity as required
