The Government has announced that it is going to abolish the Default Retirement Age in October 2011.

Employers have nothing to fear from this change. The use of a DRA is an outdated concept and the removal of forced retirement is an opportunity to put policies and processes in place which make the most of an age diverse workforce. 

This workshop, designed for employers still using a fixed retirement age, will examine the areas of concern with the help of Neil Bhan, Pensions Partner at Beachcroft, including:

  • what changes in policies, procedures and working practices may be needed?
  • are the ways we measure and manage performance adequate?
  • how do we know what employee's future plans are?
  • what changes may be needed in occupational pension schemes and employee benefits?
