Six months on from legislation, ageism still rife at work
Leading think tank on age says laws have yet to have an impact

* Research carried out by GfK NOP among 1000 UK adults aged 16+, between 23rd and 25th March 2007.

An Early Day Motion has been tabled on The EFA's behalf, calling for MP support in further education for employees on the change in law and also for changes in the legislation relating to minimum wage payments, redundancy payments and the funding of modern apprenticeships. The EDM currently has almost 100 MP signatures representing cross-party support.

The Employers Forum on Age (EFA) is the leading campaigner on age issues in the workplace. The EFA is a think tank of employers established 10 years ago because they wanted to eradicate ageism in the workplace. Since then it has helped provide advice, training and support for workplaces that want to eradicate age discrimination from their employment practices (and helped prepare them for the new legislation.)
