Notes to Editors:

Increased awareness of age laws spells trouble for employers.

*16 million workers have witnessed ageist practices in the workplace (59% of workers surveyed) - out of an adult population of 44.7 million adults in the UK, the working population is 27.6

** Research carried out by GfK NOP among 1000 UK adults aged 16+, between 7th - 9th September 2007.

The Employers Forum on Age (EFA) is the leading campaigner on age issues in the workplace. The EFA is a think tank of employers established 11 years ago because they wanted to eradicate ageism in the workplace. Since then it has helped provide advice, training and support for workplaces that want to eradicate age discrimination from their employment practices (and help prepare them for the new legislation.)

Company case studies are available on request
